Final Collection

During her year studying in Florence, Emily naturally became more knowledgeable on the roots and history of the iconic brand, Gucci. Gucci is known for designing the famed Embroidered Japanese Bomber Jacket which was debuted by Tom Ford in 2001. Ford drew his inspiration from American GI’s who were stationed in Japan and got their jackets embroidered as a tokened memory for their occupation in Japan. This is a personal story to Emily’s roots, where her grandfather a U.S. Navy Sailor was stationed in Japan in the late 1950’s who stumbled upon a tailor shop in Yokohama to get a fitting, where he happened to meet a seamstress who he would later on marry. After learning of the roots of Gucci’s famed jacket, Emily felt compelled to design a collection that represented her personal story. Top to Bottom: A take on the classic suit, an asymmetric cowled jumpsuit with one sleeve, hand embroidered flowers on the shall. A sleeveless sheer jumpsuit with asymmetric cowls along the body and floral hand embroidery on the back.
